Accommodation
This African deal will have you right on the coast no matter which option you choose to fly to.
Dar Es Salaam has its origins in fishing and despite it being a major port city now, the origins of this city remain evident. You can find the National Museum here which is home to human fossils, and the Village Museum which is open-air and has traditional tribal dancing and recreated traditional homes. There are markets and fish markets to explore. Going off the mainland will have you finding the Dar es Salaam Marine Reserve – home to islands with uninhabited beaches and crystal clear water.
Zanzibar is itself an island with the main Zanzibar City being home to mosques, an old fort and the 1883 House of Wonders which used to be a sultans palace. Diving the coral reefs is an option off the coast of the Murogo, Pange and the Mnemba islands to view the sea life. If diving isn’t for you, the sea life can still be enjoyed from Kizimkazi’s beaches in the south where dolphins swim! If the water isn’t to your liking, take to the sky instead and visit the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre on the edge of the Jozani Forest and view the native butterfly species.
Plenty for you to do! Whatever you choose, you can find and book your accommodation at Hotels.com or Booking.com.
